Aim
This course has been designed to meet the requirements of STCW 1995 as amended in Manila, Section B-VIII/2, Part 3-1 and is basedon the guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.22.Course provides guidance for masters and officers in charge of anavigational watch in the use of all available resource to enhance navigational safety.
Scope & Objective
The trainees who successfully complete this course will be able to formulate and execute a detailed passage plan using specified bridge personnel and equipment, apply effective communication skills withina Bridge Team, identify and respond efficiently to potential hazardsand emergency situations.

Entry Standards
Trainees wishing to enter this course should have a minimum of six months' watch keeping experience as officer in charge of a navigational watch and should also have completed a course of training which meets or exceeds the standard set out in IMO Assembly resolution A.483 (XII), Training in radar observation and plotting .
Medical Standard
As per M.S (Medical Examination for seafarers) Rules 2000 as amended from time to time.
Course Certificate
On successful completion of the course & demonstration of competence, a certificate will be issued .
Intake
Not Above 20 per class
Required Attendance
100% attendance is required for successful completion of the Course. However, in exceptional circumstances the relaxation can be given for genuine reasons.
