Aim
This training course aims to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for seafarers for elementary first aid in accordance with the Regulation VI/4, Sections A-VI/4 paragraph 1-3 and Table VI/4-1of the STCW 1978 Convention, as amended and the STCW Code.
Scope & Objective
Apply the medical principles of first aid in the event of an accident or emergency situations on board the ship, corresponding to Regulation VI/4, Section A-VI/4, paragraph 1-3 and Table VI/4-1 of the STCW 1978 Convention, as amended and its STCW Code.
To demonstrate the ability to act correctly in coordinated medical assistance at sea plans to provide the sick or injured with a satisfactory standard of Medical First Aid on board, in order to minimize the risk of human loss; taking appropriate action in accordance with the knowledge, understanding and proficiency set out in Section A-VI/4, and Table A-VI/4-1 of the STCW 1978 Convention, as amended and its STCW Code.

Entry Standards
This course is intended primarily for applicants for a certificate of competency or those who already hold one. The participant must ensure the training, aptitude and ability to take charge of the medical care of the crew during and after departing, as required by Regulation VI/4 and Section A-VI/4 paragraph 1-3of the STCW 1978 Convention, as amended and the STCW Code.
Medical Standard
As per M.S (Medical Examination for seafarers) Rules 2000 as amended from time to time.
Course Certificate
Upon successful completion of the course, the participant must receive a course completion document for "Medical First Aid”, in accordance with the Regulation VI/4, Section A-VI/4, paragraph 1-3 and Table VI/4-1of the STCW 1978 Convention, as amended and the STCW Code.
Intake
Not Above 30 per class
Required Attendance
100% attendance is required for successful completion of the Course. However, in exceptional circumstances the relaxation can be given for genuine reasons

70 % or Above

Exam
A test will be conducted on completion of the Course
Re Exam
The Student will be given two more attempts if score below 70 %. In case if the student fails to get 70 % or above he needs to join the Course as Fresh.e
Certificate
After Successfully completion and Passing of Exam, a certificate will be issued to the Student certifying that he has successfully completed the Course.
