Aim
This course is designed for those designated to take charge of medical care on board ship and aims to meet the mandatory minimumrequirements for knowledge, understanding and proficiency in SectionA-VI/4 paragraph 4 to 6 and Table A-VI/4-2 of the STCW Code 1995 amended in 2010. This course is principally intended for candidates for certification as Chief Mates & Masters on sea going ships.IMO Model Course 1.15 should be used in the preparation of the material for this course.
Scope & Objective
On successful completion of this course, the seafarer shall be able to take charge of medical care on board ship. The level of knowledge acquired shall be sufficient to enable the seafarer to take immediate effective action in case of accident or illness likely to occur on board ship.

Entry Standards
For Admission to this course seafarers must hold a Certificate of Competency .
Medical Standard
As per M.S (Medical Examination for seafarers) Rules 2000 as amended from time to time.

Not Above 30 per class
Course Certificate
On successful completion of the course & demonstration of competence, a certificate will be issued certifying that the holder has met the standard of competence specified in Table A –VI/I-2 of STCW 95 as amended in 2010.
Required Attendance
100% attendance is required for successful completion of the Course. However, in exceptional circumstances the relaxation can be given for genuine reasons.

A test will be conducted on completion of the Course
Re Exam
The Student will be given two more attempts if score below 80 %. In case if the student fails to get 80 % or above he needs to Join the Course as Fresh.
Certificate
After Successfully completion and Passing of Exam A certificate will be issued to the Student certifying that he has successfully completed the Course.
